"How Dare You": Shut Up and Listen

It is time for the grandfather in me to stand up for Greta Thunberg as I did earlier for Emma Gonzalez. For those not attuned to the news, Greta Thunberg is a climate activist from Sweden who recently spoke at the United Nations. She is the 2019 Time Magazine Person of the Year. Emma Gonzalez is the anti-gun activist from Parkland’s Stoneman-Douglas High School, now a freshman at New College of Florida. Both are notable Gen Z representatives. Spokespersons of the Gen Z cohort are unfortunately easy targets for know-it-all Boomers... the same generation who has largely created the world of crisis that Gen Zs are inheriting. It is time for Boomers to shut up and listen with appreciation to these courageous young voices.
